Air Malta Drops Ticket Prices To Become Low-Cost Airline

Air Malta has steeply dropped its prices in a bid to remain competitive with other low-cost airlines. Offering a ‘Go-Light’ option similar to Ryanair and EasyJet, Air Malta will now offer passengers the chance to fly with a 10kg hand luggage from just €39.

Air Malta has said it will continue to give out free water and the much-Salotted bread roll until the end of the year. After that the price will no longer cover an all-inclusive trip, but just the ticket fare.

Despite the change in its ticketing system, Air Malta will not be altering its regular destinations. This means places like London, Paris and Amsterdam can all be reached via Air Malta on this new, cheaper fare.

“It’s all about creating revenue… We want to be the first airline of choice and we know that people, given the choice, will choose Air Malta. But we need to change with the world,” said Air Malta Chief Commercial Officer Paul Sies.
