Arrest Muscat, Mizzi And Schembri Now, PN MEP David Casa Urges Police
Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, former Health Minister Konrad Mizzi and former OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri should be immediately arrested, PN MEP David Casa has insisted.
Casa spoke out moments after PN MP Adrian Delia won a landmark case against the Vitals-Steward deal, with judge Francesco Depsquale ordering that the Gozo, St Luke’s and Karin Grech hospitals return to the public.
“The Maltese courts confirmed that the privatisation of Malta’s hospitals was riddled in fraud and corruption,” Casa said.
“This isn’t an opinion. These are crimes. And yet Joseph Muscat and his accomplices run scot-free. What more will it take for Malta’s institutions to deliver justice?”

Judge Francesco Depasquale today ordered the annulment of the deal and the return of the three hospitals to the government within the next three months, with all costs to be borne by Steward Malta.
Depasquale ruled there was fraud in three stages of the process – before the original contract with Vitals was signed, during the deal itself and after Steward took over.
Independent politician Arnold Cassola had also called for arrests and arraignments of Muscat and Mizzi, as well as international arrest warrants against VGH investor Ram Tumuluri and Steward Healthcare International CEO Armin Ernst.
