Australia First To Legalise Magic Mushrooms And MDMA For Mental Health Treatment

Australia has officially become the first-ever country in the world to legalise magic mushrooms and MDMA to treat mental health conditions.
MDMA, which is typically known as ecstasy, can now be prescribed by approved psychiatrists to those who suffer from post-traumatic stress disorder and can prescribe magic mushrooms for some forms of depression.
It is believed to assist patients by promoting emotional openness, reducing fear, and enhancing trust during therapy sessions.
Even though this is a massive change for many scientists and mental health experts the therapy may come at a cost with Australian media stating that one course would cost tens of thousands of dollars.
The use of MDMA and magic mushrooms (containing the psychoactive compound psilocybin) in the treatment of mental health conditions has gained increasing attention in recent years.
These substances are being explored as potential therapeutic tools in carefully controlled clinical settings.
While Australia is the first country in the world to regulate such substances, clinical trials are also underway in the US, Canada, and Israel.
