Blackouts Persist In Malta: Some Localities Endure Third Day Without Electricity

Blackouts have continued to persist all over the island as some Maltese localities have endured a total of three days with no electricity, as we move into the fourth day this morning.
The most badly affected areas seem to be Żurrieq, Żebbuġ, San Ġwann, and Naxxar, but many more have reported repeated power cuts.
Enemalta had said the electricity supply will be restored by Tuesday afternoon, however, on Thursday morning, many residents have taken to Facebook to lament the persisting situation.
Some localities have experienced power cuts way over 20 hours now, and there’s no end in sight.
Throughout last night, the power even went during a party at Gianpula, affecting organisers and partygoers during a night out.
While many Enemalta employees have been deployed across the island to deal with the persisting issue, tensions continue to rise, as temperatures are expected to soar past the 40 degree mark today and for the following days.
