Palazzo Ignazio, Valletta’s newest boutique hotel, is offering guests a quintessentially Maltese experience. Opening its doors on the 7th July, Robert Abela and various other ministers were present at the launch.

With a spectacular view of the Grand Harbour, 23 bespoke rooms, a cafe and a spa – Palazzo Ignazio is welcoming the first guests of the 2022 season.

Robert Abela even had some words to say about this grand opening. Mentioning how “the hospitality sector is always exploring creative and innovative ways to attract more visitors to Malta” Abela is happy that Palazzo Ignazio offers “a different culinary and cultural experience in Valletta”.

Palazzo Ignazio is a prime example of future developments, and the government is continuously working to help create a welcoming environment for investors in this sector.

Being a former palazzo and the fact that its home is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Palazzo Ignazio truly creates something unique. Decorated in hues of blue, grey, green and gold to reflect the colours present in Malta’s spectacular landscape, this boutique hotel is special.

Each room and suite effortlessly combine the contemporary with the traditional, offering guests both comfort and a truly local experience.

Dating back to 1904, this magnificent building has been restored to its former glory thanks to the finest finishes, that ensure a modern and stylish twist while still keeping the heart and soul of the Palazzo intact.

Mark Bajada, who’s the Director of Bajada Group, delivered a keynote speech to distinguished guests and ministers, detailing his hopes for the future.

“As a group, we have started with a modest business which today grew into an interesting group of companies operating in various sectors: energy, industrial engineering solutions, healthcare, elderly care and last addition boutique hospitality-tourism with bespoke culinary and cultural experience giving Malta the great exposure it deserves,” he said.

“Leading through innovation and novel concepts is never easy, and yet once accomplished, the vibe and satisfaction for all of us is a great feeling. We as a country have to push forward an element of novelty, and we should not be afraid to take risks,” Bajada concluded.

Palazzo Ignazio doesn’t just provide stunning accommodation to guests, it also offers events throughout the week.

Get ready to experience Cocktail Nights on the rooftop bar every Thursday night and Gin Nights on Wednesdays.

Food that compliments the drink of the night is served during both of these events. Make sure you book your spot in advance to avoid any disappointment. To be the first to hear of any events, make sure to follow Palazzo Ignazio’s Facebook page
