Police are investigating CCTV footage taken near the home of Attorney General Prosecutor and lawyer Karl Muscat as officers continue looking into the death.

This is with the aim of identifying people who could have visited Muscat in the hours before his death.

As of yet, the police have found no indication that Muscat was murdered or that others were involved in the case.

This comes after an autopsy found traces of alcohol and drugs in his system.

The lawyer, who is 43, worked in the Office of the Attorney General. He was found dead on Wednesday near his home in Triq is-Sirk, Swieqi.

His death came as a shock to the legal community, with everyone from PN Leader Bernard Grech to Justice Minister Jonathan Attard sending tributes to the man.

Among the cases he was working on, Muscat was handling the case involving Ryan Schembri, the owner of the now defunct More Supermarkets.
