Christian Borg’s Sicily By Car Office Raided By Police In Fraud Investigation
Police have raided Sicily By Office Malta offices as part of a probe into potential fraud, seizing card payment machines, laptops and other equipment.
The franchise company holder is a controversial entrepreneur and alleged kidnapper Christian Borg.
No arrests were made but staff were asked to leave the premises.
The parent company distanced itself from Borg after charges of kidnapping emerged. Borg is currently facing court proceedings along with four other persons, all of whom were charged with the abduction of a man in Rabat.
Many shocking recounts have emerged of his charges, which also involve multiple instances of money laundering. Past clients have detailed allegations including beating, kidnapping, and forcing clients to pay payments that were not actually owed to the company.
A magisterial inquiry is set to be opened into Christian Borg’s other company No Deposit Cars Malta and all his money laundering activities. It is now run by other people.
Prime Minister Robert Abela was previously his lawyer. Borg and Abela have also found controversy amongst themselves over a property deal in Żabbar from which the Prime Minister allegedly roped in €45,000.
