An ambulance was involved in a crash with a car in Qawra this morning as it was escorting a patient to hospital. The crash took place at around 8am near the Qawra police station, and photos indicate the ambulance had crashed head on into the passenger side of the car. The ambulance caught fire and its bumper was ripped off.

A police spokesperson told Lovin Malta the patient inside the ambulance wasn’t injured as a result of the crash.

Earlier this month, a young Englishman was killed after the car he was riding in was involved in a crash with a Red Cross ambulance in Xemxija.
