Daphne Caruana Galizia Vigil To Be Held In London Tonight
A group of Maltese students currently attending London campuses will gather in front of the Maltese High Commission in UK’s capital city tonight for a silent vigil in honour of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
The same group of students had gathered last year in protest of Malta’s passport sale schemes.
But tonight, they will stand together for justice in the case of Daphne Caruana Galizia’s murder.
“Join us for however long you can, as we stand together for justice,” the event page reads.
“Your presence matters, more than ever,” the post continues, “given events this past week, it is time we reiterated our message to those in power: it is time to rebuild trust.”
The event details go on to explain the group’s call for those in power to “step aside” in order for true justice to be served, asking those in attendance to bring candles, posters, placards, flowers, pencils, sticky notes, pictures and printouts of Daphne’s blog posts.
There are currently no plans for a fifth night of protests in Malta, however, organisers are currently planning for a big demonstration to be held this Sunday.
If you are in London and wish to attend, the weather is currently predicted to bring with it some rain.
