PN To Decide Whether Or Not Bernard Grech Will Remain Party Leader

The PN has officially begun the process to assemble a general council, which will decide whether or not Bernard Grech will remain the party leader following another devastating loss at the polls last month.
According to the party’s statute, following a general election, party councillors must be given the opportunity to choose whether or not the leader will remain in office or be replaced with a newly elected one.
The process started following the PN administrative council meeting held on Wednesday night.
According to sources who spoke to the Times of Malta, this will trigger a meeting of the party executive which will have to be delayed until the party’s parliamentary group is completed.
The PN still needs to elect 13 new MPs to complete their parliamentary group. Seven of these will be elected via the casual elections and six female MPs will be given a seat in parliament via the gender quota mechanism.
