Father and Soldier Christian Degabriele Identified As Diver Who Lost His Life
Beloved father and soldier Christian Degabriele has just been identified as the diver who lost his life.
Tributes are starting to come in for Degabriele, who was found dead around St Paul’s Islands earlier today, after going missing while diving.
On 11th August around 5.30pm, Police were called to the area between Buġibba and St Paul’s Islands.
The Police immediately went to the scene and from an investigation, it turned out that a 35-year-old resident of Għaxaq was diving in those areas and did not resurface.
Members of the Armed Forces of Malta and the Civil Protection Department started an intensive search and rescue, both by a team of divers and by patrol boat and helicopter.
Unfortunately, this morning, around 8.45am, Police were informed that a body was spotted in the area of St Paul’s Islands, and it was confirmed that it belongs to Degabriele.
Police investigations are still ongoing.
