Fearne Stands Firm And Informs Robert Abela He Is Indeed Resigning
Chris Fearne has stood by his decision to resign as Deputy Prime Minister and EU Funds Minister, despite a last-ditch appeal by the Prime Minister to try and convince him to change his mind.
“I once again thank you for showing trust in my integrity,” Fearne wrote to Robert Abela.
“It was the greatest privilege of my life to serve our country as minister and Deputy Prime Minister.”
“However, I will stand by my decision.”
Fearne has also asked the government to retract his nomination as Malta’s next European Commissioner in light of the charges he is set to face in connection with the Vitals-Steward magisterial inquiry.
