Franco Debono: If I Return To Politics I Will Focus On Land Reclamation
Franco Debono has said he intends to focus on land reclamation projects if he ever returns to frontline politics.
“This country is prospering and its population is growing. One of the solutions is land reclamation,” Debono said.
“If I return to politics I will certainly dedicate a lot of energy to this sector. The government is already giving signals that it is heading in this direction and the next election will be fought over who can offer the best land reclamation proposals.”
“I am telling you three years in advance, as usual.”
He said that his proposals show a long-term vision and that “if he had one fault it was that he was too forward-looking”.
Debono recently gave a strong hint that he wants the Nationalist Party to invite him back to the party.
“Many people believe that the PN will never recover before I’m allowed to work,” he said. “This isn’t my opinion, but the opinion of many people who speak to me on a daily basis. I have been waiting for months to write this. As has been written on ice-cream vans, you’ve tried the rest, now try the best.”
