Gozitan Teacher Attacked And Left With Broken Arm In Violent School Incident

The Malta Union of Teachers has unreservedly condemned a case of aggression a teacher faced yesterday at a Gozitan school.
“This educator was attacked by a student and consequently had their arm broken that could lead to a permanent disability,” the MUT said.
The union says it is in contact with the teacher, the school in question, as well as the Education Minister to “discuss the situation”.
A police report was made, with the police investigating the case.
“The MUT condemns all cases of aggression and will continue to report all cases, and support all educators that need help. Aside from this, the MUT urges an adequate support structure in schools to ensure these cases do not happen.”
Back in April 2022, the Ħamrun teacher also faced possible injuries after a student allegedly spiked their water bottle with some kind of chemical.
