Ħadd Għalik ‘Politicians Vs Panto Dames’ Christmas Game Show Won’t Be Aired After PN MPs Boycott It
Game show Ħadd Għalik has been forced to cancel today’s programme, which promised a wacky showdown between politicians and panto dames, after the two PN MPs who had participated in it came out against its broadcasting.
The Christmas-themed programme would have seen PL MPs Rosianne Cutajar and Clifton Grima team up with PN deputy leader David Agius and MP Toni Bezzina and compete in some crazy and funny challenges against four panto dames.
It was filmed on 12th November, before Yorgen Fenech was arrested and charged with the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia, triggering a political crisis.
Agius and Bezzina wrote to PBS to inform them that they no longer wanted to appear in the programme, and PBS CEO Charles Dalli today informed the producers of Ħadd Għalik that the show will not be broadcast.
“It is unfortunate that, even in Christmastime, the PN has chosen to push forward the politics of division,” Cutajar said. “The point of this programme was to entertain people and send out a strong message in favour of national unity. What a shame.”
