‘Have Some Respect’: Gozitan Apartment-Owner Sends Message To Holidaying Maltese After Their Place Is Trashed
A Gozitan rental operator has spoken out after finding their Xewkija Bed and Breakfast trashed this morning after some guests stayed over.
“Today I write this post with a very heavy heart,” the operator of Rummiena BnB posted. “Today was a horrible day – the photos I am posting are nothing compared to the smell and disaster they left.”
Images posted alongside the status showed various items strewn around the residence, including bones, toilet paper and even a frying pan that was left caked in black leftovers.
“Finding a mess after guests have left me shattered. Why would you go on holiday and trash someone else’s house? Why would you have no respect for the people who have to clean up the mess you leave?” they asked.
“Why would you not teach your children how to obey and respect the maids that daily have the tough job of cleaning toilets after you?”
Gozo is a popular destination for day-trippers and weekend breaks, both among tourists and the Maltese.
The apartment’s owner said she was dedicated to keeping the place “shiny and sparkly” and loves to host people and see them enjoy their holiday.
However, the ugly discovery this morning has made them feel like they need to remind people to be more respectful of other people’s property.
“I truly ask all future guests to be more respectful. And I ask all those Maltese who are coming up to Gozo and renting short let stays to respect all the people who make your holiday possible.”
