‘I Am Trans Minn Fuq S’Isfel But I Am Also A Citizen’: Presenter Explains Why She Isn’t Grateful To PL For Gender Laws

NET TV presenter Angela Coleiro has brushed off praise for the PL government’s gender identity laws by stating she managed to legally change her gender under a Nationalist administration.

“I want to nip this in the bud once and for all because I’m sick of seeing all this nonsense,” Coleiro said.

Posting a photo of her birth certificate to show she had legally changed her gender from male to female in 2008, Coleiro said that while the PL government streamlined procedures, it was by no means inaccessible when the PN was in charge.

Moreover, she said she won’t vote for PL just because it improved rights for LGBT+ people, including making Malta one of the first countries in the world to allow non-binary people to legally identify themselves as ‘gender X’.

“I won’t put my trust in a thieving, fraudulent and corrupt government which pigs out off the backs of workers,” she said.

“I am a woman and a post-op trans from top to bottom but I am also a citizen who has a vote and a mind, and thank God I know how to use it. You can insult me as much as you like but I’m not afraid of you and I will keep on saying what I have to say.”

The PN had approved Coleiro as a candidate for the 2022 general election, a move which would have made her Malta’s first ever trans woman candidate. However, she pulled out a month later, citing personal reasons.

She spoke out after Terry Muscat, a prominent trans social media influencer and PN supporter, legally changed her gender and was told by several followers that she should be grateful to the PL government.
