‘It Traumatised Me’: Man Allegedly Caught Masturbating On Bus To Buġibba
A man was allegedly caught masturbating on a bus to Buġibba, traumatising a 23-year-old woman who was on her way home from a night shift earlier this morning.
“I was traumatized, the worst thing is that the bus was full and no one did anything,” Veronica*, a young Venezuelan girl told Lovin Malta.
Earlier today at around 7am, Veronica was at her usual stop waiting for Bus 48 after her night shift, alongside a man who’s always at the same stop.
“I always see him wearing the same clothes, I’m assuming it’s his work uniform.”
While on the bus, Veronica noticed him touching himself and quickly took photos of him with his hands down his trousers.
“I got very nervous and I took the photos, I tried to signal to the boy who was next to him but he didn’t do anything.”
“I couldn’t stand to keep looking so I yelled at him and told him to stop touching himself, and he got scared and told me I was crazy.”
The man, who she said was Maltese, got uncomfortable and eventually got off at a stop near Mosta.
“The girl next to me didn’t do anything either but we all knew what he was doing.”
Despite working a long night shift, the shaken woman went to report the incident to the Qawra Police Station.
Authorities confirmed that investigations are underway.
Malta Public Transport said it strongly condemns any sort of illegal behaviour on board its buses.
“The company would like to remind bus passengers that all buses are equipped with CCTV for the safety of its passengers and employees. This footage is always shared with the authorities to assist in their investigations,” it said.
This is not the first time such a disturbing incident has happened on the island.
Back in October 2022, footage of a man masturbating on board a bus full of people made the rounds on social media and prompted a police investigation into the matter.
Malta Public Transport even published a statement on the matter, strongly condemning the action.
Similarly, back in 2017, a 15-year-old girl photographed a man who took out his penis and started masturbating while staring at her on a public bus en route to Buġibba.
A man had even admitted to harrassing a woman after ejaculating on her in a packed bus over a year ago.
It seems that public indecency both on and off Maltese public transport Malta is an ongoing issue, with a Reddit thread revealing a number of disturbing personal accounts.
