Jason Azzopardi Says Central Bank Governor Facing Serious Criminal Charges
Repubblika’s lawyer Jason Azzopardi said that Central Bank Governor and former Finance Minister Edward Scicluna is facing charges in connection with the Vitals inquiry.
“Serious criminal charges that could lead to a potential imprisonment term have just been filed against Central Bank Governor Edward Scicluna,” Azzopardi said.
“Resign now. You should be ashamed of yourself. You have now embarrassed us with the European Central Bank too.”
In an earlier post, he said that former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, former minister Konrad Mizzi, and former OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri are among the people facing charges.
The inquiry, carried out by magistrate Gabriella Vella, was requested by Repubblika some four and a half years ago and was concluded late last month.
