Jeremie Camilleri’s Mother Refuses To Testify Against Her Son In Pelin Kaya Murder Case

The mother of a man accused of murdering a woman in cold blood refused to testify in court against him today.

Jeremie Camilleri’s mother took the witness stand today, briefly confirming her details in English before saying she would not be testifying, Times of Malta reported.

In a rare moment, Camilleri seemed to show some emotion, closing his eyes and taking deep breaths. 

Camilleri is accused of murdering 30-year-old Pelin Kaya in a 1am alleged unprovoked attack on the woman who was walking home in Gzira on 18th January

The court case has seen emotional moments, including when the friends of the victim told Camilleri to “burn in hell“.

In this sitting, it was also revealed what injuries Kaya sustained, including intracranial injuries and damage to the base of the victim’s skull, compounding the tragedy even further.
