Joseph Muscat Accuses Repubblika’s Head Of Acting As ‘Prosecutor, Judge And Jury’ Following Office Protest
Former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat accused Repubblika’s leader of acting as prosecutor, judge and jury following the activist group’s protest outside his Sa Maison office.
“Dr. Robert Aquilina, the same person who felt he had to stay outside my house during the supposedly secret search that the Police had done, has now made himself a prosecutor, judge and jury in the face of the rule of law he talks about,” Muscat wrote on his Facebook page.
The former prime minister implied that Aquilina, in his “continuous incitement of hatred” knows what is happening in the magisterial inquiry, undermining the independent process.
“It is also clear that in his arguments, Dr Aquilina is completely ignoring the judgment of the Court in relation to me and the report of the Auditor General,” he continued.
“As I have always said, I welcome any scrutiny that can be made because it can only confirm that I have always acted in the interest of the country.”
His comments come after Repubblika, who staged a protest outside Muscat’s office today, blasted the fact that those involved in the fraudulent hospital deal have not been prosecuted.
Aquilina also noted that while evidence pointed to the roles played by former ministers Konrad Mizzi, Chris Cardona, Edward Scicluna and former OPM chief of staff Keith Schembri, Joseph Muscat was the “architect of the corrupt deal”.
“We all know where the corrupt belong. Joseph Muscat and his corrupt friends belong in Kordin prison,” Aquilina said.
