Kacey Sciberras Identified As 17-Year-Old Passenger Victim In Central Link Crash

Kacey Sciberras has been identified as the 17-year-old passenger who lost her life in the early hours of the morning in a car crash at Central Link, Attard.

Police reported an intense crash at around 3am this morning along Triq Tumas Chetcuti, Attard.

The 20-year-old driver of a Chevrolet Aveo lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a wall and pole. Inside the car were two passengers, two 17-year-old women from San Pawl il-Baħar and Attard.

Kacey Scibberas, from San Pawl il-Baħar, was certified dead at the scene. Other passengers were taken to Mater Dei for treatment.

Sciberras, a beloved member of St Paul’s Bay’s Committee of the Festa Santa Marija Sultana tal-Martri.

“This morning we woke up to a big shock,” the committee wrote on Facebook moments ago. “We lost one of our children.”

An active member of the committee’s youth, Kacey followed in her family’s footsteps, with her father and brother also members of the committee. A number of condolences and tributes to the young woman have already started streaming into social media.

Meanwhile, fellow youth committee member Luke Debattista, was also involved in last night’s accident down Central Link, is currently receiving treatment in the Intensive Care Unit.
