87 Migrants On A Wooden Boat Were Just Rescued By Malta
The Armed Forces of Malta have rescued 87 migrants that were on a wooden boat yesterday evening.
The rescue came after a notification concerning a wooden boat with 87 migrants on-board was received on the evening of the 4th March by MRCC Rome. The Armed Forces of Malta located the wooden boat some 30 nautical miles south of Lampedusa.
An Italian naval asset operating under FRONTEX in the vicinity was dispatched to render assistance. However, the vessel was unable to provide any assistance due to some technical faults.
