Italian national Giulia Munafó was “going to work as usual” when she came across some very concerning signs left along the road.

“I don’t like racism, that’s why I wanted to share these photos with you,” Giulia told the Lovin Malta.

The photos show pieces of cardboard with derogatory remarks written on them, including “Indians not wanted” and “Pakistani go home”.

These cardboards were left in random places along the street, including on the floor and on the ledge of a window.

Giulia revealed that the latter phrase was “repeated three times”.

“Every individual who decides to move to another country undoubtedly faces sacrifices and hardships,” Giulia remarked.

“Therefore, before expressing impulsive judgments or hasty words, it is important to fully understand the situation and consider the lived experience of anyone, whether they are Pakistani, Indian, or anyone else, and how much they might consider a new place, like Malta, as home,” she continued.

Back in January, Lovin Malta received images of a bus stop bench in Birgu with derogatory and racist remarks scribbled on it which read “India stink” and “India go home”.
