Last Sunday’s Controversial Episode Of X Factor Malta Broke A National Record

X Factor Malta has just smashed a national broadcasting record, with 180,000 viewers believed to have tuned in to last Sunday’s live semi-final episode.

The episode, which caused national outrage after judge Alex Alden made emotional comments after all of her groups were voted out of the show, garnered more viewers than any other episode on Maltese television.

Dr Vincent Marmara interviewed 300 people on Monday and Tuesday as part of research into viewer’s preferences. He found that 61% of people said they always or nearly always watch X Factor Malta on Sundays.

180,000 people tuned into last Sunday’s episode of X Factor Malta

About 75% of Gozitan viewers had seen at least one episode from the 15 that have been broadcast

X Factor Malta was also found to be especially popular in the 16 to 25 age bracket, and many viewers said they felt the show had “very high production standards.”

It is believed that up 30,000 new viewers have been attracted to TVM through X Factor Malta. The show is a co-production of TVM and Mint Media, who were said to be happy with the survey’s results.

There are only two episodes of X Factor Malta left

This weekend’s episode marks the last Live Semi Final, ahead of the Grand Final, which will be held on a Saturday, 26th January.
