Maltese Cab Operators Hit Back At Bolt’s ‘Manipulation’ Saying They Were Forced Out Illegally

The Maltese operators of a popular international cab company have hit back at their former head office after Bolt International cut ties with the local branch of the company.
“Yes, Bolt Technologies OU (Taxify International) has terminated the contract with TaxMal (their Maltese local partner) with immediate effect on Tuesday 23rd July,” TaxMal told Lovin Malta when asked for a statement.
Their comment comes after Bolt International said on Tuesday that they had separated themselves from the Maltese branch of Bolt due to previous management’s ‘indiscretions’, though the exact reasons have yet to be revealed.
While the parent company has attempted to disown the local branch, operations have continued uninterrupted, with drivers still getting paid and rides still being offered successfully.
The local operators, however, have taken umbrage at what they perceive as an attempt to cut them out of the business that they supported and grew in Malta, with the sincere possibility of this issue ending up in court.
