Maltese Man Gets Three-Year Probation And 40 Hours Community Work For Sexually Abusing Wife

A Maltese man found guilty of sexually harassing his wife has been sentenced to three years probation and 40 hours of community work.

Carmel Farrugia was also found guilty of sexually harassing his wife.

It took the courts one year to deliver the final judgement, with the incident of rape occurring on 7th March 2022 in Siġġiewi.

The sentence, which was handed out by Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit said that the man had “conjugal problems” and suffered from a lack of “assertiveness”.

The prosecution was led by Inspectors Joseph Busuttil and Sherona Buhagiar.
