Nearly 50 Companies Pledge Support To Incredible 200km Children Charity Run In Marsa
Close to 50 companies have come together to support children in need and its initiative, 1Run 1Childhood, an ultra-event in which two friends will run 200km around the Marsa track.
The marathon is set to raise funds for inbuilt therapeutic services for the children under the care of Fondazzjoni Sebħ.
Hospitality consultant Claudio Camilleri, 46, and philanthropist and businessman Daniel Abela, 53, are aiming to raise awareness and money for the children with your help.
The event will be held over the long weekend, starting at 7 am on Sunday, 30th April, and ending in the afternoon of Monday, 1st May, at The Matthew Micallef St John Athletics Stadium in Marsa.
The funds will be used to provide weekly psychotherapy sessions for each child living at the home. With just a couple of days left before the 35-hour mentally challenging run of 500 laps around the same track, Camilleri and Abela are giving their mission one final push, encouraging more people to donate and support their cause.
The Children in Need Foundation, with the help of donations collected during the event, plans to employ a team of psychotherapists and other therapists who will enable Fondazzjoni Sebħ to set up an inbuilt system of therapeutic services.
The service will be offered for at least three years and is estimated to cost €150,000 per annum. It will cater to the 41 children in children’s homes, those in the shelter, and the community, and also support and guide staff working directly with the children.
Camilleri and Abela are encouraging the public to donate and show their support by turning up at Marsa track, cheering them on or even joining them for a few laps.
The event’s success will change lives by providing essential therapeutic services to children in need, offering them a better chance at life through a loving, safe childhood.
