Two 17-Year-Old Swedish Boys Arrested After Alleged Robbery At Buġibba Jewellery Shop

Two 17-year-old teen boys from Sweden were arrested in connection with the robbery of a jewellery shop in Buġibba.
The police noticed two people behaving suspiciously as they were patrolling Triq il-Merluzz yesterday at around 3.45pm. Suddenly, upon seeing the police, the two boys began running away prompting the officers to chase after them.
The police were only able to catch one suspect, with the other escaping from the scene.
At the same time, the officers were informed of the robbery in Triq Dawret il-Gżejjer, Buġibba, by two individuals matching the teen who was arrested, as well as the one who got away.
When the 17-year-old was placed in the police vehicle, he allegedly threw an object which turned out to be a gold bracelet stolen from the shop. As the search for the other youth began, his residence was quickly located and visited by the police.
There, they found the youth and conducted searches finding a bracelet and a gold watch, also stolen from the Buġibba store.
They are expected to be brought to court in the coming days while police investigations continue.
