Magistrate Joe Mifsud has been released from Mater Dei Hospital after receiving treatment for around five months.

He spent 169 days in hospital over two periods, and he is being advised to continue regularly visiting hospital to continue his treatment, with well-wishers celebrating the news that he’s been discharged.

During his stay in hospital, the magistrate, who is known for his idiosyncratic court addresses and particular references, said he was sad to have to miss the festa celebrations in Żejtun, but had no doubt they would be spectacular in a video message.

In his message, Mifsud went on to tell enthusiasts to enjoy the festa celebrations and fireworks, but to not forget about who the festa was dedicated to – Santa Katarina.
