The official Facebook account of the Malta Film Commission has been hacked.

The account, which has over 22,000 followers, has seen its profile picture updated with an image of a blonde woman, leading to a number of comments making light of the situation.

“Seems like a good film is on the way…” commented one person under the image.

Speaking to Lovin Malta, a spokesperson for the Malta Film Commission said that they were filing a police report and the entity would be working with authorities to figure out who is behind the hack.

So far, there is no indication who may be behind it.

The image was first updated at around 4.30pm today – and all previous administrators have been removed, with access to account no longer available to the Malta Film Commission and its staff.

This is not the first time a Maltese entity was hacked, with their profile pictures similarly updated to images involving women.
