Malta Voted Second Best Diving Spot At The International Dive Awards
Malta came away with two prizes last weekend at the annual NEC Diveshow in Birmingham. The show’s winners are based on thousands of votes taken from international scuba divers as well as Scuba Magazine readers to find out which country is offering the best quality scuba diving experience in the world.
The awards cover the whole diving industry, from which country is the best overall tourist destination to individual teachers as well as any innovative companies doing incredible things in the field.
Malta was awarded second place in the Best Diving Destination category, overcoming some very stiff competition. Egypt came in first place in this category, while the Maldives came in third place.
Another achievement that went to the Maltese was the second place prize for Best Dive Center, which went to Maltaqua.
Mr Nicolas Sancho, senior manager within the MTA expressed satisfaction at the fact that year after year, Malta is recognized as a major destination for diving. He said that growing community here in the world of diving to an ever of interest itself more life under the sea.
