Maltese Viewers Left Devastated After Emma Muscat Is Eliminated From Amici
Maltese singer Emma Muscat failed to secure a place in the Amici final after a nailbiting show tonight in which she was eliminated at the last minute.
The good news is that Emma was offered a recording contract with Warner Music, following an interview she had this week with one of the label’s talent scouts.
Emma’s elimination came after the Italian talent show’s host Maria De Filippi announced her sing-off against Einar would be judged solely on televoting rather than by the judging panel. Despite several strong performances, Emma was the unlucky semi-finalist to get axed tonight ahead of the final.
The finalists are Irama, a signed recording artist, Lauren, the winner of the dance section, Carmen, Emma’s nemesis throughout the show, and Einar, who won the final sing-off against Emma.
The 19-year-old Maltese singer, who earned praise throughout the show for her stunning voice and professional work ethic, could not hold back the tears when her elimination was announced but managed to crack a smile and thank the show’s producers for the opportunity.
Emma Muscat has earned more than 470,000 followers on Instagram during her appearance on the reality TV show, making her easily Malta’s most followed export.
Several Maltese fans of the show have dismissed Emma Muscat’s elimination as “unfair” and accused the show of doing everything in its power to ensure she did not make it to the final.
