A man is currently fighting for his life at Mater Dei after sustaining serious injuries when he slipped in a construction site in Żejtun.

The incident took place at 7.15am in Triq Orazio Diacono.

Initial investigations revealed the 39-year-old, who lives in Luqa, was entering a construction when he slipped in rain water and was injured.

The man received medical assistance and was transported to Mater Dei by ambulance and was later certified with serious injuries.

Magistrate Joseph Mifsud is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
