A man was found dead near Malta International Airport earlier today.

According to police, a phone call was received at around 6:20am with information that a man was unconscious near Gate One of the airport.

A medical team arrived on the scene for assistance however the man was certified dead on the spot.

Initial indications suggest that the man died from natural cases, no foul play was suspected.

Police investigations are ongoing.
