Motorcyclist Killed In Birkirkara Hit-And-Run, Police Searching For Driver

A 42-year-old man from Nepal has died following a traffic accident in Birkirkara early this morning.

The crash happened at around 5.20am in Triq Salvu Psaila and involved a Kymco motorcycle and a Maserati Levante.

Following the collision, the car also hit three parked vehicles before the driver and two passengers fled the scene.

A medical team was called to assist the motorcyclist, but he was certified dead on site.

One of the car’s passengers, an 18-year-old woman from Mosta, was found a few minutes later nearby and arrested.

She was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, though her condition is not yet known.

Police are still searching for the Maserati’s driver and the other passenger.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia is leading an inquiry into the incident, appointing several experts to assist in the investigation.
