New Photos Reveal Chantelle Chetcuti’s Alleged Murderer Went To Italy To Watch Milan Match While On Bail
New photos have revealed that alleged murderer Justin Borg went to Milan to watch a football match while on bail, as he faces charges for murdering his ex-partner Chantelle Chetcuti.
This new development comes after Lovin Malta reported on Borg’s recent social media posts and comments, indicating that his life continued uninterrupted following the gruesome murder.
Soon after Lovin Malta contacted Borg to enquire about his bail conditions and his current location, Borg deleted his profile.
Photos that were exclusively sent to Lovin Malta show the alleged murderer who is facing charges for the stabbing of Chantelle enjoying a football game in Milan.
The photos were uploaded to social media by Borg on 11th October 2022, showing a Champions League match unfolding between Milan and Chelsea at the San Siro stadium.
Borg also uploaded selfies with Paolo Maldini, a legendary Italian football player, Daniele Bonera, Milan’s current technical coach, and Stefano Pioli, the current Milan manager.
One of the photos Borg uploaded in front of Milan’s Duomo was also taken with another woman, whose face has been blurred by this newsroom.
A legal expert told Lovin Malta that while someone who is on bail is banned from leaving the country, the courts can grant them express permission to go on holiday.
The courts tend to base their decision on the level of risk that the accused could abscond, taking into account factors such as whether they had abided by their previous bail conditions so far, whether they had purchased a return ticket, and the country they intend to visit.
So, Malta’s courts do have the power to grant an alleged murderer a bail exemption to go abroad – however, this begs the question – should an alleged murderer be allowed to go abroad?
The screenshots were sent by someone intimate with the case, who lamented how Borg is “enjoying life, whilst the mother of his children lays in the grave”.
“This man killed the mother of his children and left them motherless, and he is out and about traveling and enjoying his life. I am at a loss for words sometimes, it simply is not fair,” they said.
Justin Borg is currently awaiting trial after pleading not guilty to murdering his 34-year-old ex-partner and the mother of his two daughters.
Borg had handed himself in to the police covered in blood and with drugs on his person shortly after stabbing Chetcuti in the head.
The murder weapon, a knife, had remained stuck inside the victim’s head after the attack. Chetcuti later succumbed to her injuries days later while receiving treatment in the hospital.
