Malta’s Minister for Civil Liberties Helena Dalli has confirmed that she was working on a draft bill for marriage equality last night. Answering a question by a Turkish LGBT+ activist, Minister Dalli confirmed that she was working on it “last night”.

Malta already has Civil Unions that have been described as equal to marriage, but this is the first time that the government has committed to introducing gay marriage. Gay couples in Malta also enjoy the right to adopt children.
