‘A Beautiful Soul’: Tributes Pour In For Chantalle Gauci After Tragic Freak Accident
Tributes have begun pouring in for Chantalle Gauci, a 38-year-old mother who died after her car rolled back on her.
Police were informed of the incident on Triq l-Arċisqof Romero, St Julian’s yesterday at 5.30pm.
The Times of Malta cited witnesses who claimed that she was desperately trying to stop the vehicle when it ran over her and crushed her. According to these witnesses, the woman’s daughter was in the car and is believed to be unharmed.
A police spokesperson on scene did not confirm the presence of other people in the vehicle. He explained that as she got out of the car it started rolling back and she got caught under it, suffering fatal injuries.
It is unclear what led the car to roll backwards.
A magisterial inquiry is underway as police investigations are ongoing.
