KFC To Close Temporarily During Tonight’s Pelin Kaya Vigil
The KFC outlet in Gzira which, last year, became the site of the tragic murder of Pelin Kaya will close temporarily tonight during a vigil honouring the first anniversary of her death.
“A vigil will be held adjacent to our outlet which we urge the public to attend,” the outlet wrote, clarifying that they will reopen once the demonstration is concluded.
KFC will close its doors at 7pm to “honour the memory of Pelin Kaya on the first anniversary of her passing”.
Pelin died an hour into her 30th birthday on 18th January 2023 after the accused, 33-year-old driver Jeremie Camilleri, drove into KFC, while under the influence of drugs.
Pelin was a Turkish interior designer who aspired to become a successful architect. She fell in love with Malta when she came here to study English. She decided to move to the island and establish a life here
Will you be attending tonight’s vigil?
