During the third episode of Making Malta Home, in collaboration with UNHCR, Lovin Malta spoke to the three individuals, who passionately praised all the help they received from the Maltese community during times of need.
“When the war started, obviously quite a lot of Maltese people were offering help even notary services – a lot of services were offered to us for free,” Alex said.
Throughout the episode, they detail the astounding hospitality of the Maltese people, and how they welcomed the Ukrainians with open arms.
“Maltese people are very open, the Maltese community helped me to find a second home because they do a lot and are still doing a lot, not only for me but for the whole Ukrainian community,” Anastasia says.
The three also spoke on the difficulties their country had to face and is still facing due to the ongoing war, as well as what their experience is like watching it all go down from afar.
“Today, my grandmother who’s 93, who still lives in Odesa, has to spend pretty much the whole day without electricity,” Alexandra expresses.
