Jean Pierre Debono’s position within the PN has been seriously called into question by outspoken lawyer and Former PN MP Franco Debono.

“Jean Pierre Debono is the only one who has been in the PN administration for all the losses in the last few years,” Debono said on social media.

Making claims over his salary, Debono insisted that Jean Pierre Debono must resign from his position. “I know of someone who is ready to do the same work for nothing with the guarantee of a much better result,” he continued.

“The PN is in a poor financial position,” Debono said. “If Jean Pierre wants money, he should find a job, and not depend on the PN.”

“Right now, the PN needs people of substance who are ready to work for free,” Debono continued. “People who don’t need politics to turn a profit, but who politics needs because they have valuable things to offer. That is solution number one. Everyone keeps beating around the bush. Do you want to solve the problems or not!?”

Jean Pierre Debono has been at the centre of a co-option saga in the PN which saw PN Treasurer David Camilleri resign after party figures cried fowl over the voting process. Debono has been a figure in the PN ever since Lawrence Gonzi was at the helm.

Meanwhile, Franco Debono, who notoriously voted against the Gonzi administration, has often been on the receiving end of calls to return to the Nationalist Party.
