‘You Deserve Better’ Than ‘These Pirate Politicians’, Bernard Grech Urges As Vital Proceedings Commence
While former Prime Minister Joseph Muscat, his former Chief of Staff Keith Schembri, and former Minister Konrad Mizzi are currently facing serious criminal charges related to financial crime in court as we speak, Opposition leader Bernard Grech took to social media to give his two cents.
“You deserve better than a Government that is only concerned with defending those who stole from you,” Grech wrote, adding that the people “deserve better than a Prime Minister who has lost all control, so much so that his party’s supporters went against his wishes and protested in front of the Courts.”
Grech was referring to the hundreds of Labour supporters who gathered in front of the Maltese Courts to show support for Muscat and the others being charged, giving all of them a hero’s welcome and filling the square with PL chants.
“You deserve better than a government that is too concerned with the problems it created to address the issues affecting you,” Grech continued, adding that Malta deserves politicians who are there for the greater good, “not for themselves”.
“These are pirate politicians. Don’t let them use you to steal everyone’s money, tarnish Malta’s name, and run away with our money and dignity,” the PN leader concluded.
