‘Fans Left In Tears’: Supporters’ Club Comes Out Swinging Against Malta’s Embarrassing Defeat To Faroe Islands

South End Core, the loyal fanbase of Malta’s national football, has come out swinging against the country’s embarrassing defeat to the Faroe Islands.
“You left fans with tears in their eyes, disappointed by the result and performance of the team,” the group said.
Malta lost to the Faroe Islands, a country with a 45,000 population, in a recent qualification match for the European Championships, pushing Malta to rock bottom of Group E.
Malta, despite many attempts, is yet to win a football game in a very long time. In fact, the team’s last competitive win was seven months ago, with victories still being few and far between.
The loss, the group said, was even worse considering that a number of players were rested in an earlier home game against Sweden, which Malta lost 4-0.
“Who is going to shoulder responsibility for the loss?” the group asked calling for drastic changes in Malta’s football system.
“WAKE UP and take the necessary decisions!” they continued.
