Gżira United’s Europa Conference League Experience Comes To An End

Gżira FC did not make it to the play-offs of the Europa Conference League, so their adventure has officially come to an end.
The highly-anticipated match aired earlier this evening and saw the Maltese team lose to Austrian club Wolfsberg.
This was the third qualifying round of the league and Wolfsberg won 0-4, the game was played at the MFA Centenary Stadium in Ħ’Attard.
According to NET, Gżira finished with nine players as two were sent off during the second half – Zach Scerri in the 53rd minute, and Jefferson in the 66th.
Despite this unfortunate defeat, Gżira United has made Malta extremely proud having made it to the third qualifying round of this major tournament.
Both Hibernians and Ħamrun Spartans have also made it to the third round of this major tournament.
Hibs will be playing at home on Thursday 11th August after recording a 1-1 draw in the first leg against RFS (Latvia) while Ħamrun will need to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Levski in Bulgaria.
