Bulletproof and Sliema’s Local Council are collaborating to launch a new public open-air gym at Exiles, Sliema. Their launch will feature a special guest appearance, and will also give attendees the chance at winning €1,000 – and a very heavy tank top.

Bulletproof is a fitness community and platform focused on bringing athletes together to motivate, educate and inspire individuals to live a healthier, fitter and more sustainable lifestyle.

The Project Robin Hood open-air facility is surrounded by sea views from the heart of the city. It will be free to use for anybody old enough to use their equipment safely, without opening hour restrictions.

If the St Paul’s Bay predecessor is any indicator, the Exiles facility is likely to become a vibrant workout scene.

To inaugurate their new gym’s launch, Bulletproof has invited a renowned muscle-bound influencer, fitness coach and former calisthenics world-champion Dejan Stipke Stipić as a special guest on 23rd April.

Dejan will share tips for optimal usage of outdoor gym equipment while leading a workshop on outdoor fitness training.

Depending on how co-operative your body feels like being on the 23rd – and how quickly it takes to Dejan’s teachings.

You might just find yourself doing pushups with all your family and friends on your back by next week…

Bulletproof will also be hosting a €1,000 Bulletproof vest pull-up challenge. Whoever is able to do the most consecutive pull-ups will be taking the vest home – and will be compensated for their fat-burning tribulations with a big fat stack of moolah.

The challenge will test form, strength and endurance – and will presumably not allow Dejan to participate, or we’ve all got a significant amount of work cut out for us.

The Sliema Outdoor Gym will be the second Project Robin Hood outdoor facility to be built by Bulletproof, after the successful construction of a similar facility in St Paul’s Bay – which is frequently used by dozens of local fitness enthusiasts from nearby surrounding localities.

Like the soon to be opened Exiles facility, this one combines a beautiful view with salty sea breezes, and an environment in which friends can meet, train, relax and motivate one-another while hearing waves lap against the shore below.

“Our goal is to provide free for all access to the ever-growing fitness community on the island, by launching more open-air spaces accessible to all, to make Malta a European destination fitness country,” said Bulletproof.

Bulletproof wished to express their thanks to John Pillow and Wallace Vella Baldacchino from the Sliema Local Council for believing in and supporting their cause, and helping to bring the vision of this new workout facility to fruition.
