WATCH: Two Men Find Large Dead Tuna On Sliema Shore And Decide To Pull It In

A couple walking along the Sliema promenade Monday evening were enjoying the evening breeze and sunset when they noticed a number of people gathering to look at something near the shoreline.

On closer inspection, Nico Grech and Alexandra Kuntola saw that there were at least two people trying their darnedest to pull a dead tuna onto the shore. The tuna, origins unknown, had floated right up the shore near Qui-Si-Sana in Sliema – and the two guys were doing everything they could to save the fish for themselves.

“We noticed a few people really interested in something happening below the The Compass Lounge so we went to check it out, and we saw the two foreign men then trying to pull the dead tuna back to shore, but it was very heavy for them,” he said.

Nico and Alexandra watched the two men wrestle with the tuna as a crowd can be heard watching and egging them on, with one man even shouting “put your back into it!”.

One of the two even jumps in the water in an attempt to push the tuna up, but to no avail. After a few minutes of trying their best, the two men let the tuna slide back into the water, beaten by the sheer weight of the dead fish.
