Nickie Vella De Fremeaux Requests Marital Separation From Opposition Leader Adrian Delia
Nickie Vella de Fremeaux has officially sent a legal letter to her husband, Opposition leader Adrian Delia requesting a marital separation, Lovin Malta can confirm.
It is understood that Vella de Fremeaux sent a letter to the PN headquarters sometime last week and that Delia has left the marital home in Siggiewi. The report was first broken by Manuel Delia and can be confirmed by this website.
Delia later issued a statement to confirm his wife and himself are passing through a difficult period and to ask that his family’s privacy be respected.
In a recent interview with Lovin Malta, Vella de Fremeaux admitted that she and her five children had been against Delia’s decision to run for leader of the PN from the very start and that the family was finding it very difficult to adapt to life in the public eye.
“We used to do so many things together; we used to go out to eat, go to Gozo…but when you end up having to almost become a recluse… I don’t even enjoy it myself,” she said. “I don’t enjoy being recognised wherever you go and it’s very very daunting for the children to the extent where one of them said they want to change their surname.”
