Not Just A Survivor: After Three Years Of Chemotherapy, Luca ‘Can Live A Normal Life Again’
Three years later, little Luca Piccione has successfully completed his Leukemia therapy in an incredible turn of events.
“Not just a survivor, but Luca can thrive and live a normal and healthy life again,” Luca’s mother said as Puttinu Cares shared the incredible news.
Sharing a celebratory snap, Luca can be seen surrounded by his family as well as medical staff and nurses as he cuts into a cake while wearing a big smile.
His shirt simply but powerfully reads: “Luca – no more chemo”.
Aside from his incredible recovery and health journey, Luca had also hit the news after an incident where his family where caught in a sudden flood – and passing police officers stepped in to help out.
“Luca Piccione today needed to go to hospital to receive chemotherapy for Leukemia,” Puttinu Cares had posted online.
“He and his mother got caught in the storm and they couldn’t make it to hospital. They had to leave their car far away from the hospital because water was rising to the knees. At that moment, police were passing by and escorted them to hospital, and Luca was able to receive his treatment on time.”
Whether police are involved or not, little Luca is a hero that the entire island should be proud of and we can’t wait to see what comes next!
