Over 1,065 Objections For Five-Storey Development In Santa Lucija Green Lung

Over 1,065 objections have been signed by Santa Luċija residents over a massive development by construction magnate Anton Camilleri ‘Tal-Franċiż within the town’s green lung.

The plans will see the construction of a five-storey, 1,273sqm building which will include 36 apartments, five maisonettes, seven penthouses, and 75 garages.

It is designed by X,Y,Z architects, which is owned by the Labour Party’s Deputy Leader Daniel Micallef.

“We are overwhelmed by the hard work and courage of the residents,” Moviment Graffitti said. 

“The collection of over 1,000 objections in a short period of time truly highlights how negative this development is and how residents can unite against a threatening development. We hope the Planning Authority will listen to this loud alarm bell from Santa Luċija residents.”

The site in question is located in a sloping area, touching Triq Katerina Vitale, Triq il-Fortizza, and Triq L-Istefanotis

Beyond the concerns for the green area, the proposal exceeds the height limitation on all four facades due to being situated on a slope.
